I vowed that every day I wouldn’t take for granted and love even harder than before! I started off my year convincing my wife to join Crossfit and partake in an 8 week nutrition challenge with me in January. (I even bought her some Crosffit equipment essentials for Christmas to seal the deal, and we just booked our honeymoon to Thailand, so that was motivating for her as well, haha) It did require her to potentially start eating meat again after 7 years, but it had been something she thought about eating again anyway.... I had joined 8 months earlier in preparation for the wedding and made some huge changes in my life nutrition and fitness wise. All I would do is talk about Crossfit and all of my new friends and community I had found, my wife HATED it. I bugged her to join every day. She loathed when I talked about it, she hated having to actually eat healthy with me all the time and not be able to indulge on the yummy foods we used to as much, but I will admit, she was a trooper. I told her I would never talk about Crossfit again if she just joined in it with me for 8 weeks, knowing full well, she would love it. I knew she would love the community, the work out and how she would feel about herself, and sure enough, she loved it. She hated me and it for the first 2 weeks now she loves it, even competed in her first competition a few months after starting and getting 4th place! Crossfit has changed both of our lives, huge shout out to Crossfit 8035 family for being awesome!
Meanwhile, my wife’s brother moved to Des Moines and lived with us for a while, and we went on our honeymoon to Thailand! No we didn’t have a travel agent, I planned the trip for us! It’s crazy how long the flights are, but when you set foot in Thailand, it was all worth it! We traveled around the country, from Bangkok, to Chiang Mai, to Krabi, to the Phi Phi Islands to Railay Beach. The trip was stunning, we stayed in a tree house, zip lined, rode elephants, played with tigers, Thai massages, rock climbed, it was truly an amazing honeymoon! The locals were very friendly, the whole country was hospitable and most places we went to spoke English. Although I can speak Laos and understand it, Thai is a very similar language which some similar words, however I did get a kick out of the people who would start speaking to me in Thai and I’d have no idea what they were saying or they would talk to each other about my wife and I and I knew exactly what they were saying, LOL! Overall, I would recommend going to Thailand any day!
I’m over half way in my coaching program and in around March/April 2015 will be a Certified Professional Coach and earn my CPC! I currently work with some amazing clients who I get to challenge and coach every
week and I feel soo very blessed!
Bigger things happening with my life in 2015. Baby Bouaphakeo will be born sometime in April and will undoubtedly be a life changer. Full Pursuit will be creating new workshops, groups and have a stronger focus on who I am and the type of people I want to impact, a stronger nutrition focus and it’s all so very amazing and exciting! The possibilities are ENDLESS, as always.
So whatever New Year’s resolution you make, please do one thing, just be you, be authentic, everything else will fall into place!
Be safe and have a Happy New Year! Cheers to 2015
